Series: Darkness of Light
Publisher: Twisted Fairy Publishing
Pub. Date: February 13 2013

Description:
Freak. Witch. Crazy. Schizo.

Ember Brycin has been called them all. She’s always known she’s different. No one has ever called her normal, even under the best circumstances. Bizarre and inexplicable things continually happen to her, and having two different colored eyes, strange hair, and an unusual tattoo only contributes to the gossip about her.

When the latest school explosion lands her in a facility for trouble teens, she meets Eli Dragen, who’s hot as hell and darkly mysterious. Their connection is full of passion, danger, and secrets. Secrets that will not only change her life, but what and who she is—leading her down a path she never imagined possible.

Between Light and Dark, Ember finds a world where truth and knowledge are power and no one can be trusted. But her survival depends on finding out the truth about herself. In her pursuit, she is forced between love and destiny and good and evil, even when the differences between them aren’t always clear. At worst, she will incite a war that could destroy both worlds. At best, she will not only lose her heart but her life and everyone she loves. Once the truth is out, however, there will be no going back. And she’ll definitely wish she could.

Series: Fire in the Darkness
Publisher: Twisted Fairy Publishing
Pub. Date: August 31, 2013

Description:

It's been four weeks since Ember Brycin witnessed what her powers are capable of. The Electrical Current Storm has turned Seattle, Washington into a natural disaster zone. The death toll is in the thousands with countless others homeless and hungry.

And Ember is the one who caused it. Something she will have to live with every day.

Those people who were unable to escape either turned quickly into gangs or live in shelters. Ember, on the other hand, can’t do either. With a price on her head and a Dark Dweller on her ass, she is constantly on the move. Both Light and Dark are hunting her for their own purpose to use her as a weapon or a pawn in the war between the Unseelie King of the Dark and the Seelie Queen of the Light.

Em needs help but doesn’t know who to trust: Lars, the mystery man Torin told her to find? Torin, the Seelie Queen’s personal knight, who has sworn to keep Em safe? Or Eli, who wants to turn her over to the Unseelie King, but whom she has an undeniable, intense connection with?

No matter what she chooses she will probably lose—her life or everything and everyone she loves.

About the author:

Stacey Marie Brown by day is an Interior/Set Designer, by night a writer of Paranormal Fantasy, Adventure, and Literary Fiction. She grew up in Northern California, where she ran around on her family’s farm, raising animals, riding horses, playing flashlight tag, and turning hay bales into cool forts. Even before she could write, she was creating stories and making up intricate fantasies. Writing came as easy as breathing.  She later turned that passion into acting, living and traveling abroad, and designing. Though she had never stopped writing, moving back to San Francisco seemed to have brought it back to the forefront and this time it would not be ignored.
When she’s not writing she’s out hiking, spending time with friends, traveling, listening to music, or designing.

Interview:

What characters do you connect with most? I connect to “real” characters. In so many books I was reading, the main character was too perfect or righteous and judgmental. Life is grey. I enjoy characters who don’t always chose the “right” or the moralistic road. When put in a situation or your family/friends are threatened, most people will do what they need to do. Priorities change. Maybe that’s why I love watching “The Walking Dead.” Human nature is to survive and not always is that the pretty road!

What's your favorite book-turned movie? Harry Potter. Not a lot of books cross over well into movies, but Harry Potter did and did it well.

If you could be best friends with one of your characters, who would it be?
That’s tough. I think I would get along with all of them. Well, maybe not the sheriff, Samantha, or the Queen as much. I don’t get enjoy being around drama or self-centered people. I would probably get along with Ember and Ryan the most, but I would need a Kennedy to balance me, too.

Can you tell us about any other books you're writing? I am writing my 3rd book in the Darkness Series right now. Someone mentioned to me they were glad it was only 4 months till my next one comes out and I started to freak out! I have SO much to do!

What do you do in your spare time? Right now? Finishing my 3rd book! Otherwise I enjoy hiking, traveling, exploring a new place, watching a movie, or hanging with my friends.

If you were stranded on a desert island which character do you want by your side? Eli! No question . . . And they could just leave me on that island with him . . .  in a loin cloth!

Team Peeta or Gale? This answer will probably get me shot with a bow and arrow, but I am a complete Gale fan. I didn’t get or connect at all to Katniss and Peeta. Found the later books very frustrating and had some tantrums.

What are you reading now? I have a stack of books on my nightstand. I either read several at one time till one of them captures my full attention or I read several chapters of 3-4 books before sleeping. I go through books fast. My pile is constantly rotating, adding on and subtracting.

I like the idea of new adult - the except seems just edgy enough without a lot of boring love scenes. And it is nice that it is a series, so once you get to know Ember, you can read more about her.

What really intrigues me is Eli ^^ hahaha Thanks for sharing this ;)

I also like the idea of it being a series. Not a lot of romance but just enough.

I like the feel of the books, it keeps me interested and hooked on what the character is battling with good and evil.

The factors that intrigue me the most are (1) It's a paranormal series, (2) It's a series., (3) The battle between good and evil and how the character is caught in the middle. Sounds like a Must-Read series to me! :)

Paranormal books are my fave! I love the description starts with "Freak. Witch. Crazy. Schizo."

I love that the main character isn't someone you'd come upon everyday...she's definitely different and that's a good thing. I also really like the paranormal aspects.

Thank you for the giveaway!

I really like the sound of the series - the main character sounds really interesting :)

Ember powers C: I just love out of this world series C:

The mystery of it! Thanks for the giveaway!

What intrigues me is that on the second book Ember destroys a city, how did she go from being weird to being a destroyer? And what will she end up being and with who will she end up?

What intrigues me most about this series are the covers and the genre. I've hardly read any NA books and I feel like this is a chance to expand on that. The covers are gorgeous. They definitely caught my attention :)

I love to read paranormal books, and these ones sound like ones I would really, really enjoy. :-D

What interests me most is the medieval style that seems to run through the novel, and i am most curious about the fantasy/ paranormal element! It sounds like a facinating read and something that i would definately pluck from the shelf.

Thank you for the giveaway x

These sound like the sort of books that I would really enjoy! :)

I just adore any book with a paranormal element to it; I get tired of books that are basically real life played out in front of me. I have TV for those. The only good paranormal show is Supernatural XD

I love the paranormal theme of the book. I'm also interested to see what happens after the devastation of the storm.

I like the fact that's its a paranormal new adult book

The storylines of the paranormal are what I like a lot.

Seems interesting!

Sound great! Will buy if I don't win. Thanks for the giveaway.

I love stories about a girl who is an outsider in normal circles, but only because she is different and special. Especially supernatural girls!

I love a story about someone who knows they are special and different. I have always felt that way myself.

The fact that it is geared towards adults AND a paranormal has me sold!

Wow...this sounds like a very interesting series.

I like the fact that it's new age paranormal romance! I'm loving that genre >.<
